Happy Birthday Stan Berenstain- (September 29, 1923 - November 26, 2005)

Our neighbor is like another grandmother for my children. She often invites them over to bake tasty treats and to do crafts.  Occasionally, when there is a break between activities, she will read Berenstain Bears to them.  The books she reads were saved from when her own children were younger.  One day, she expressed to me that one of her favorite things about books is the short rhyme that is on the first page of book.  She shared that she felt they were great parenting tips.  I compiled a list of my favorite rhymes from the books we had at our home.  I hope you enjoy these life lessons as we remember Stan Berenstain on his birthday:

1. No matter how you hope. No matter how you try. You can't make truth, out of a lie. - The Berenstain Bears and the Truth

9.  One's sense of self-worth is often undone the first time one feels left out of the fun. - The Berenstain Bears and the In-Crowd

10. We all have something we do the best - a little better than the rest. - The Berenstain Bears Ready, Get Set, Go!
